So Many Things You Didn't Know and Didn't Care To Ask

First off...this is my 260th post. Whoo hoo! Who knew I had that much crap to talk about?
In honor of this I shall post 20 random facts about yours truly.
  1. I am terrified of moths. I kid you not. Terrified. Actually I really dislike anything that flies. But moths are especially nasty. Look at them sometime...they are all dusty and fuzzy, and not in a cute cuddly way.
  2. I did not have a middle name until I was married. I realize that this is not all that fascinating but it is unusual if nothing else.
  3. I have had to get three tetanus shots. They all were for very significant reasons and not just because I needed to be updated on my shots. First: stepped on a rusty nail attached to a two-by-four. Second: Got second and third degree burns on my hand when I worked at Taco Time. Third: Had Gavin.
  4. Have been worked on by a plastic surgeon . (On my lip when I was little.)
  5. I was dating someone when Blake first asked me out. I said yes to Blake but was later going to tell him no. Lucky for me the guy I was dating decided that he wanted to break up the day before Blake called to set up our date.
  6. We have our first date on video.
  7. I have three tattoos.
  8. I can turn my tongue upside down, touch my nose with it, and fold it in half. (This is quite a feat. I read in a Ripley's Believe It Or Not book that only 1 in 100,000 people can do it. Admit it you are kind of excited that you are in the presence of greatness.)
  9. When Gavin was born he had two placentas. (I realize that this is not really about me...but I did create and birth him...so I take some credit.) Evidently it is not very common. (So not only can I fold my tongue in half, I can create some pretty amazing things like children with two placentas too.)
  10. I hate when doors or cupboards or closets are left open. Even if they are just ajar I have to shut them. Otherwise it will irritate me to no end.
  11. I have weighed about the same amount since high school. With the exception being the influx when I am pregnant.
  12. I was called names by kids growing up like "Hannah Barbara or Hannah Banana." I think it was meant to be a jab but it never bothered me. Obviously they needed to be more creative to make it sting.
  13. I didn't know that I was meant to be with Blake until he broke up with me.
  14. Where I grew up there wasn't much to do. So in high school people would meet up at different random spots out in the middle of nowhere and they would name these spots things like "the clearing," and "the zone." Funny.
  15. My first kiss was a real kiss and was in 6th grade by a boy that only wore sweat pants every day.
  16. I love spicy food. Jalapenos...bring it on! If you like jalapenos you should try pepperoni and jalapeno pizza or a cheese and jalapeno omelet. Yummy.
  17. I could rehearse the entire Little Mermaid movie for you.
  18. I have toes that lay on their sides.
  19. I had a lot of pets growing up. Cats, dogs, fish, a bunny, and I even had a pet pig. I loved all animals and I remember wanting to be a vet when I grew up. Not so much anymore. I don't want any pets. And the one time that we got a gold fish for Gavin thinking it might be fun, I couldn't wait for that thing to die. I swear it swam upside down for weeks before it finally bit the big one.
  20. I can fly fish.

Domo Oragato Mister Roboto

Canon always has his hands in his mouth (that is except when we have pinned them to his side while we swaddle him.) I think that sometimes they have a mind of their own. They hit him in the face, they take his pacifier out of his mouth, they scratch him. Sometimes his hands are just down right mean. But sometimes they are nice and they let him suck them. Most of the time they look like this while he is sucking on them:

I would venture to say that is not the most comfortable but he seems to like it like that.

The other day Canon was sucking on his fingers when Gavin said:

"Canon stop eating your hands."

Me: "Gavin, it is OK if he sucks on his hands. He likes it."

Gavin: "Yeah, it is OK if he sucks on them but he can't eat them. Because if he does then we will see the wires."Hello Robot baby.

Or perhaps the "wires" are what Gavin thinks tendons are?

Birthday Festivities

Gavin's birthday started out with his birthday cereal of Captain Crunch and ended with dinner at Red Robin. We had a birthday party for him on Saturday. It was a Wall-E theme (but it was mostly just a space theme).
We got these planet decorations they were pretty cool. (and set up in the correct order.)
Gavin's cake.
Laney after eating Gavin's cake.
Gavin got lots of cool toys and cash from Grandma Dana.
Here is a picture of all of the kids. It is a little hard to get them all to look at the camera at the same time so...you take what you can get.

Gavin

Our little boy is not so little anymore. Today he turns four years old. But it is nice to know that even though four years have passed some things have not changed.
Gavin has always had such a sweet personality
He loves to read. He still is a little infatuated with boobs. Case in point 1, 2, 3. His blue eyes never cease to amaze me
He makes me smile. Since the day he was born I have loved him. All 1460 days.Happy Birthday!

High Expectations

Gavin: "Hey Laney we are going to play a game. If you are obedient then I will give you a princess. You need to jump really high and if you can hold onto the fan I will give you two princesses."

That's not asking too much to play with her own toys is it?

Because You Are Dying To Know

My Mom came to visit. It was really nice to have her here. When she left I decided that I could see the up side to polygamy. There were two "Moms" around to take care of the kids. It was like a "kinda" break. Now it is just back to one mom. Sigh.
Canon so far has been our only child to take a pacifier. It is a lifesaver. Gavin informed his sunbeam teachers today that we got an Ariel doll. He told them that she has a fin but that he lost the purple thing that covers her boobs. I told him later that we probably shouldn't talk about boobs at church. Yep. That's my boy.
On Friday we met up with our friends the Andrews for dinner at Chilis. Canon got hungry right before our meal arrived. So I went into a bathroom stall and feed him. Oh yes. Strange, I know. But it was affective and we didn't have to go out in the cold to go to the car. I am "that" kind of mom.

The strange kind that feed there kid in a bathroom....I am not sure there is a name for that. But on a side note, I was in a stall not just standing out in the open. But while I was in the stall I thought "Man, someone is going to come in here and wonder what is going on that I am taking so long." No one came in. Prayer answered.
