Dark Blue

This is Gavin singing one of his favorite songs. If you don't know this song here is the link to listen to the actual Band sing it.

Jello Goodness

So my latest favorite thing to make is yummy raspberry Jell-O. I love it. I eat it in the morning afternoon and night. Go Ahead and make some so you too can have a bite of some tasty goodness.

First you need Jell-O (raspberry flavor) you can either get a big box or two regular size boxes. Follow the directions on how to make the Jell-O but only use half of the water.

After you have mixed in the hot and cold water mix in one small container of sour cream. (I use my gloved hand to do this only because I don't want a bright red hand and I don't want chunks of sour cream in my jello.)

Then lastly you mix in one frozen bag of raspberries. Put it in the fridge and let it set. You can eat it by itself or with Cool Whip. Delicious.

Stand Up Band and The Man of My Dreams

So this is Blake proposing to me. For those of you that can't understand the words here they are:

"Hannah Jones, Hannah Jones sweet smiling slicer of salami.

Delighted, Darling, Deli Dame.

Always Dazling, always smiling always love...ed.

He wants to marry you he screams into the night air like a fireman going to a window that has no fire, except for the feeling in his heart.

You'll beat me at Yatzee, I'll live with it.

For I love you."

(Just as a side note. I worked in the Costco deli at the time.)

I'm In the Corner But Not Because I Was Naughty

So our kids love to play in the most random of spots. This is Laney's favorite new place to play and Gavin happily joins her behind a chair in our room. Toys in hand, she normally says "bye bye" and off she goes.

I'm Like An Addict

What can I say; I am a fool for reality TV. Case in point, my favorite show is back
America's Next Top Model.
I will officially be busy every Wednesday at 8 until it is over.

Blake

I was tagged a little while ago with this and I thought what better time to talk about Blake than on his Birthday. Happy Birthday Honey! I Love You!

What is his name? Blake Daniel Unguren

How long have you been married? 6 years (On Feb. 15)

How long did you date? We started dating in June. Got engaged in November (Blake wanted to get married in December and my mom said “No Way”) Got married in February. So, from start to finish 8 or 9 months. (That is with a break up in between, and a long distance relationship (He was at BYU, I was in Washington.))

How old is he? He is 29 today. (Busy month for us I know.)

Who eats more sweets? Definitely Blake. He is kind of the girl in the relationship. By that I mean that he loves Chocolate and I could kind of take it or leave it.

Who is taller? Blake

Who has more speeding tickets? I would say Blake. But for as crazy as Blake drives sometimes, you would be surprised at how safe he is (or that he does not get caught.) Case in point: One night when Blake was driving home from the store (I had just had Laney) Blake realized that he was going to be late for watching Lost, which is a big deal at our house. So as he is going 65 in a 35 zone what do you think he sees behind him? Yep, a cop. No, I take that back not one cop, two cops with their lights on coming for Blake. It is important to note that Blake could not find his registration, he had a cracked windshield, he had stopped in a cross walk and was also going almost double the speed limit. You think to yourself, this is a no brainer. Blake is getting a huge ticket. Nope! The cop let him go with nothing but a warning. Really does this happen to anyone but Blake?

Who can sing better? Blake. I think that when I sing the ears of those around me might start bleeding. Blake’s voice is soothing and lovely!

Who is smarter? Blake is definitely more brains smart. He is an engineer so he is good at Math. The guy has a Math minor for Pete’s sake. He knows how to do a lot of things and if he doesn’t know how to do it, he will read up and figure it out.

Who does the laundry? I do

Who pays the bills? We kind of both do. Sometimes I will, sometimes Blake will. However, if we are talking literally Blake always pays the bills because I stay at home and don’t make a red cent.

Who cooks dinner? I do. I love to cook and Blake loves to eat so we are equal recipients of this.

Who sleeps on the right side of the bed? Are we looking at the bed or laying in it? Looking at it, Blake. Laying in it, Me. So Blake lays to my left for all of you that I have officially confused.

Who drives? Blake does for two reasons. First, he likes to. Second, for those of you that have driven with him you know that he likes to dodge and weave. I normally stay in one lane which irritates Blake to no end. So to avoid any of us being annoyed I sit in the passenger seat.

Who is more stubborn? I am. I thank Heavenly Father every day for a husband that has no problem with saying “I’m sorry” and that is far more patient and forgiving than me.

Who asked who out first? Blake did. However, I was dating someone at the time so when he called I was going to tell him that I couldn’t go. But with a little twist of fate I was available and the rest is history.

Who kissed who first? I would say that Blake did. But I was probably giving him the “kiss me eyes.”

Who said I love you first? I don’t really remember.

Who proposed? Blake did. In the cutest way ever! He got a standup band to set up in my front yard and then sang a song that he wrote. The song was from the movie “So I married an ax murderer” he just changed the words to fit me.

Who wears the pants? I think that that is debatable.

He is a fabulous husband, a great father, and a truly wonderful person.

Sand + Slides + Sun = Perfection

This weekend my brother Brandon and his wife Meghann came to visit. That included bringing his cute kids, Porter, Tyler, and Blake. Gavin and Laney loved hanging out with their cousins. They played on the toys for a couple of hours while we talked and hung out with my Grandma and Grandpa Jones. Gavin is already wondering when Porter and Tyler are going to come and play again.

This Is What Is Called Bliss

There are a lot of things I love about Blake but here are six of the kinda strange things I love about him:

  1. He talks and walks around in his sleep. (Sometimes this irritates the crap out of me, I won't lie, but it is something about him that is quirky. Gotta love a little quirkiness.)
  2. When Blake gets laughing real hard he kind of does this wheezy thing. It sounds like he has been a smoker for years. Every time I hear that it makes me laugh harder.
  3. He tends to make stuff up and pass it off as fact. Most of the time I can tell the difference.
  4. Every time that we have to go somewhere and there is a time limit when we need to leave Blake always goes to the bathroom at the very last minute right about the time we are suppose to be leaving.
  5. He can make one eye stay straight and make the other one move around.
  6. Blake can make his lips pointy. I like to call this his bird lips. It's like a little beak.
I love my husband a little more each day. I have been truly blessed to be married for him for 6 years. I know it is just going to get better. Happy Anniversary!

Some Political Who Knew?

So as I was reading another blog this morning this is what it said (I laughed so hard I had to post it on my blog.)

Here's the real reason why McCaine is ahead:Mike Huckabee's chilling resemblance to 24's Season 5 Shady-McShaderson President Logan.

Now there's good a reason not to vote for someone.

Go Ahead and Start Singing Hallelujah

Today while getting Laney ready for bed I stripped her down to her nakedness and she went and stood by the bathroom door. "Do you want to go potty on the toilet?" I proceeded to sit her on the toilet and she was pushing as hard as she could and then "toot." And then it happened she peed in the toilet. Could I be this lucky? Have the heavens parted and decided to cut me a little slack and have a toilet prodigy child? She is only 16 months...I can't possibly be this lucky!

I'm Counting Down The Days

It Is Just A Dream

Gavin quite frequently has nightmares. The other night we woke up to him crying and Blake went into his room to calm him down. In the morning I asked him if he remembered what his dream was about.

(The previous picture was removed due to the fact that it was "freaking" my sister out. Hope this helps.)

Me: Gavin do you remember why you were crying last night?
Gavin: Yeah, there was a boy in my room and he was getting me.
Me: Where was he getting you?
Gavin: Right here (pointing to the back of his head.) And there was blood.

This is the second time that "the boy" has showed up in Gavin's dreams. We are not really sure where he comes from due to the fact that Gavin never watches any TV except for Sesame Street on occasion and I am pretty sure there is no blood on Sesame Street.

It's Gotten So Bad I Have To Take My Own Pictures

I realized the other day that we have a lot of individual pictures of Gavin and Laney but not many with us together. So nothing says pure desperation like taking a picture of yourself. Here is the best one of the bunch. The ones I took with Laney, well let's just say she looks as though she is hating life. Don't want to send the totally wrong impression. Oh, who am I kidding?

The Finale

Although most of you will not understand this...this is what my card said this morning:

Tong, tong, tong, tong,
Sing this to a song*.
It’s alimangot.
This is your note,
About birthdays,
Yours is today.

So let’s celebrate,
Go on a hot date,
And have meat,
Some crab lets eat.

* Sing this to your favorite Filipino song about crabs (aka alimangot).

Day 7

Oh yes, I do believe that Blake has gone above and beyond this Hananuka. Today I got this furi knife and I am so excited! (and a little afraid of it's cutting power.)

The poem says:

I know you love to slice, I know you love to mince. Your cutting is so very fast, it makes me want to wince.

So here's a knife for you. It's sharp as sharp can be. That's why if you cut two fingers you'll be left with three.

Day 6

Pomegranates are your pleasure, *
Though, pomegranates are a pain. **
You would eat them anywhere ***
Even stuck in the rain. ****

Pomegranates taste so great, +
So enjoy them all day long. ++
Just remember to clear your mouth, +++
Before you burst into a pomegranate song. ++++

Disclaimers:
*Pomegranates won't bring everyone pleasure.
**Pomegranates are a pain due to difficulty in eating.
***The author would not suggest eatin a pomegranate in an outhouse or any other such places.
****The author does not want to imply that it rains often in Vegas or does he want to suggest that it may rain on a certain day. The author cannot see into the furture.
+Just to reiterate... Not everyone will think pomegranates taste great.
++Warning: Eating all day long may cause some problems in the lower regions, which may result in a visit to the outhouse, which is the very place the author previously stated he would not suggest eating a pomegranate, which in turns prevents the eater from finishing their day long venture of eating pomegranates.
+++Most people would prefer the mouth clear before they see what's inside said mouth, though Gavin or Laney may tell you otherwise.
++++Author reserves every right to a percentage of the royalties from said pomegranate song.

For The Rest of You

I do realize that Hananuka has taken up most of my posts lately so here are some pictures to ease those of you that love these little animals.

Day 5

Bubble gum, bubble gum in a dish,
Hopefully, gum is your birthday wish.
'Cause now you've got a variety, yes quite a few,
Get your jaws ready for a good chew.
Not only did I get loads of gum but I also got this bowl that I love.

Day 4

Once a year, this time doth come
To take a break form being a mum (use British accent)
And spend some time away from home
And spend some money as you roam.

So here's some cash for you to blow
You'll find a place for your swag to stow.
From all the walking you'll work an appetite
So off to the Eiffel Tower to eat to your heart's delight.

For this great journey you'll want a friend
So Cathy has been invited to attend.
You'll have enough for both of you to eat
So go enjoy yourselves...it's my treat.

Day 3

The poem on the card is as follows:

The movies are so great, the movies are so grand
Everybody loves a movie and a marching band.

The movies are so boss, the movies are so rad.
Everbody eats at movies even when their sad.

The movies are so neat, te movies are so fun.
Everybody digs the movies and a hotdog bun.

The movies are so gnarly, the movies are so bitter.
Let's go see a movie and leave are kids with a sitter.

So if you haven't caught on we are going to the movies. Since it is my choice what should we go see? Juno? 27 Dresses? That Will Smith one? Another movie?
