I Am Sure It Stung. A Lot.

I just want to say.....I love my kids. Just because I squirted Canon in the eye with a lemon while we were at TGI Friday's does not mean I don't love him. I think it just means that....well....It means I suck! Seriously?! What Mom does that? And tells people that she did it? I think I need help.
  • I would just like to point out that I did not do this on purpose. Totally an accident. But sad none the less.

A Little Holiday Cheer

It snowed here the other day. I kid you not. Fall from the sky, blanket the ground in white, every flake is different, snow. It is nice to see that we got another representation of snow besides just my decorations. Every year I seem to find something new that I add to my Christmas decorations. This year it was Santa.
I also got these lovely stars to add to the tree.
And even though I got these last year, this year they made their debut.
This years finished product.

You can check out last years Christmas tree here. And watch Laney dance here. Plus, so far so good because this hasn't happened again.

Chocolates and The Christmas Cactus

Last week we went to the annual Unguren dinner and cactus garden. It is at Ethel M Chocolates and they decorate all of the cactus' with lights. This picture is not the best but the look on Laney's face and her hat cracks me up.

These are Blake's fancy light pictures.

When you walk through the factory they give you a piece of chocolate

This is me standing by a Cocoa bean. Doesn't it just look like a giant turd? Chocolate anyone?

Snug as a bug.

Why Do They Let Us Have Kids?

I am sleep deprived. That is my excuse. It is an excuse, but it is MY excuse none the less. I may be crabby, have huge bags under my eyes, or not want to make dinner. Why? Because I am sleep deprived.

Blake has been working a lot of late nights which has left me caring for Canon all by myself at night. Normally I change Canon's diaper and feed him and Blake burps him and puts him back to bed. It is a system that works for us. But with Blake working at night I have been doing it all by myself. I am OK with it. Tired but OK.

Canon is a sweet little boy but he is still not that good of a sleeper at night. The other night was especially hard. At some point during the night I laid Canon down on our bed and I laid back. I fell asleep. No surprise there I am a tired girl! How ever long later...I am not sure because I was sleeping...Blake woke up.

Me: What are you doing? (Blake is sitting up and kicking the covers.)
Blake: Fixing these.
Me: Oh...be careful. Canon is down there.
Blake: What? Really?!
Me: (Thinking in my head..."did I put him back in his bed?", "did I even lay him down on the bottom of the bed?", "Am I dreaming this?")
Blake: There he is. Oh man, I almost kicked him off the bed.

Oops. In my defense I just want to say don't call CPS. I am sleep deprived. I will try not to let it happen again...but I won't make any promises...

The Shark Reef

While my Dad and Jackie were here for the blessing we went to Mandalay Bay's Shark Reef. The kids really liked looking at all of the fish. Since then anytime Gavin sees anything with a fish or shark on it he says "look Mom, it's the Shark Reef."
I would have to say that these pictures are grouped into three categories:

1. General Good Times and Happy FacesIf you look close at the picture of Laney there is a crocodile behind her. Gavin wouldn't even get close to the glass to take a picture. He was under the impression that it was going to eat him.Gavin was just playing in the water and not actually touching the sting rays.I love this picture because you can see Gavin's reflection in the water. The kids sure do love Grandma and Grandpa.

2. Seriously? This is a face only a mother could love.

And the last category is...well...

3. Oh no you didn't!

Seriously, is that not the strangest "art" you ever did see? I guess it just makes me say, "Ahhh, Vegas. My home."

Canon's Blessing

Last Sunday we blessed Canon. My Dad and Jackie came from Washington for the blessing. My Grandma and Grandpa came from St. George and my Aunt and Uncle came from Beaver. And even though we have no pictures of them my brother and his family came from Arizona.Blake's family all came, including his brother from Utah.
Obviously Canon believes that he can fly.

Canon is just a baby so he doesn't really supply any entertainment. I am pretty sure that is why we have Laney. Yep, she really is THAT messy of an eater. After she was done with her chocolate cake, she had to strut in my shoes. And then in an effort to cover up she used her blanket as a toga.We are so happy that we were able to bless Canon. We are also so grateful for everyone that came, near and far.

Goodwill

Around this time of year there is a lot of giving going on (and there should be).
This is a collection truck by Blake's work that has been there for awhile. Is it just me or did their strategically placed rivets make you forget all about giving?
Just an observation.

A Picture is Worth Something...Right?

For Thanksgiving this year we went to this place. No, not a nice lake front property where a weird looking creature with abnormally small arms and a over sized tail live. So I guess we really didn't go to this place, but somewhere that has the same name. Beaver Utah. My Aunt Kim lives there and she invited us so we made the trip. It was fabulous. We had a yummy dinner that I did not have to prepare. (Is it just me or doesn't that automatically make it taste tons better?) It looked a little something like this. And when I say that I mean that it looked nothing like this. My aunt Kim looks nothing like this Lady. Actually no one in my family looks like these people. Except for maybe the third guy sitting down on the left. Uncle Craig is that you? She also doesn't have flower wall paper on her walls but a new room that is painted a lovely shade of blue. Very soothing. While we were there Blake went out shooting. He did not wear camo or ear muffs. He just wore normal clothes and a hat, I think. Maybe he changed into his "outdoors" wear while I wasn't looking. I am also pretty sure he didn't lay like this to shoot his gun. Correct me if I am wrong. It was a great Thanksgiving with family. Picture it. Yeah, I wouldn't be able to either unless I was there.....it sure would be helpful to have pictures to show everyone but our camera was right where we left it. At home on a shelf. I'm not pointing any fingers. I'm just saying, pictures are good.
