Red Rock

On Saturday we went up to Red Rock with our Friend Mark his little boy Taj and niece Morgan. They had a path that you could walk on and look at different things. The kids ran up and down the path. We figured it was a good way to get them to burn off some energy.

Canon slept the whole time. Good boy.
Laney has yet to perfect running so a lot of the time she was like this.

Or she was walking with me.

Oh, I Am Aware.

Canon is officially a month old today. I know that people always say "I can not believe that they are already (insert age)." Oh, I can believe that he is a month old. I have the "I haven't slept in four weeks," bags under my eyes to prove it.

But....he is lovely.

Huh?

Gavin says some funny things....here are a few that crack me up:

He thinks that these are called "scare-a-cell's"
He thinks that this place is called
This machine (which is called a nebulizer). Gavin calls it a "death-a-lizer."

He also calls

Old Lady. Yep....we shop at Old Lady.

On Friday we had our trunk or treat for our ward. This is Gavin in his Batman costume and his friend Emma Lynn. I have finished our Halloween costumes and there will be pictures to come later.

Unsuspecting Victim

Our poor little boy had no idea what was coming.

He was like a lamb to the slaughter....Sad.

Terrible Two's?

This little girl turned two last Tuesday. To celebrate we went to Red Robin for lunch with Grandma Dana. From Grandma Dana, Laney got a purse and some mini "baa bee's."Gavin got Laney a Cinderella doll.
Laney was loving the onion rings.
Actually I am pretty sure she was just using the onion ring as a carrier for the ranch.
This little girl loves ranch. After the dinner she got a sundae with a cherry on top and a balloon. Then it was home for more presents. Laney got a bunch of stuff for her "babies." I think Gavin was excited for Laney too.

Shiver Me Timbers

The other day when Gavin was playing with his Mega Blocks pirate ship he kept referring to this guy as Grandpa. I am not really sure where he came up with that...I don't see the resemblance.

Thanks Mark

Blake just forwarded an email from our friend Mark who said this:

Did you notice that Canon is flipping off the camera? This Unguren has got attitude!

Ooops!

Today after having some snacks after church Laney decided to pull a John Claude Van Damn and do some splits in between chairs. She fell and cut open the back of her head. It wasn't to deep but it was kinda wide so we decided to take matters into our own hands. With a little superglue and a "headband" so that she wouldn't rub on it at night we think she will be on the mend.

ATREYU!

The other day when I was looking at Canon I made this observation
He kind of looks like the luck dragon Falkor on the Neverending Story. No?!

Hello Fancy

For the last week since we have been home we have gotten meals from the Relief Society. All of them have been great. However, the other day a lady in our ward brought over a meal and I won't lie...I was a little shocked. She had made a whole roasted chicken, garlic mashed potatoes, a green salad, some french bread, and this cheesecake.... I didn't know that people did this for meals. It makes me feel a little bad for all the times I brought tacos.

Finally

I have been in a drugged, sleep deprived comatose state so...here is the jist on Canon's birth. Everyone was very excited for Canon to arrive. He had a lot of visitors in the first couple days of his life.
Grandma Jackie was able to be in the operating room and watch him be born. She was also there to help out with Gavin and Laney while I was in the hospital.
Aunt Sarah and her daughter Addison also came from Utah to help out. I am truly greatful for the help that they both were while I was not able to be at home with our kids.

This is Sarah's little girl Addison and the kids. I am sure that you all are wondering how our little Canon looks so dark in comparison to Gavin and Laney. I don't have an answer to that question.

I am doing well and healing like a champ. The c-section was great. Everything is good with the exception of no sleep. However, that will pass...right?!

What A Funny Kid

When I was in the hospital Gavin and Laney came one day to see Canon. Canon was sporting his customary hospital hat. Laney was all over Canon wanting to hug him and love him. Gavin was a little more apprehensive. We assumed that the lack of excitement had to do with being in the hospital and not really with Canon. However, the apprehensiveness could have just been because of Canon's hat. Gavin said that "Canon is wearing a Melificent hat."

What a keen and slightly alarming comparison.

On A Side Note

Blake took the kids to church on Sunday and I stayed at home with Canon. Granted I figured that Blake may come home a little exhausted I just didn't figure that Gavin would come home so battered and bruised. He got this lovely black eye from jumping around in nursery and he fell in to the corner of a table.
